Come on Knicks!

Well it looks like the New York Knicks are all but ready to lock up former Phoenix Sun All Star power forward Amare Stoudemire. With the hopes and dreams of landing LeBron James hanging in limbo and siding more and more with him leaning towards staying in Cleavland or possibly heading to Chicago, the Knicks are going to have to think about moving in a different direction. With the addition of Stoudamire, the Knicks have added a big time free agent and have, at the very least, not been shut out in the free agent derby. With the money still left to add a big time free agent, the Knicks have a few options. Obviously the likes of a Chris Bosh and Carlos Boozer is off the list because they play the same position as Stoudemire, Dwayne Wade looks to be headed to either Chicago or Miami, Joe Johnson is staying in Atlanta. With the options almost set in stone, it looks like the Knicks might re-sign David Lee and send him in a trade to Golden State and in return add star young point guard, Monta Ellis, who put up a career high 25ppg last year and would run Mike D;Antoni’s system very well and add another star to the line up. The talk of doing a sign in trade to acquire San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker is another option. Parkers wife, Eva Longoria, lives in NYC and he is good friends with Stoudemire so it could make sense. I think the best deal might be to sign and trade for Ellis, and in return let Eddy Curry’s contract run out, and mix that money with the extra money they have left and try to go after Carmelo Anthony next year, a New York boy who went to school at Syracuse. We can’t completely rule out LeBron James, but I don’t see it likely. In any event, this upcoming year for the Knicks should be very interesting and more fun than we have had in a long time at the Garden.

Man i really don’t think this is that great news for the Knicks. Sure at least they don’t go home empty handed but the fact of the matter in my opinion is that Amare Stoudemire is not going to lead your team to the promised land. It would be good for the NBA if the Knicks can get rolling but i don’t think Amare is the answer to their problem unless they can land a couple other marquee Free Agents.
