President Obama putting his foot down on pork!

President Obama has sent a legislation to Congress today that gives him the authority to force lawmakers to cut wasteful spending and earmarks in an attempt to cut down the giant debt that our country piled up during the Bush presidency. The legislation would allow Obama the ability to take months criticize spending bills that have been signed into law for pork barrel projects and other programs. Once he does that he can than send a package of spending cuts to Congress for a vote. President Obama has a lot on his plate and he knows that over time he is going to have spend money on many things, whether it is the oil spill issues, financial reform, health care, the war, our declining education system etc. However, in knowing about issues he will have to spend on and with the already high debt, it is good to see he is trying to rid our country of unnecessary pork spending that only wastes money. I understand pork is going to be in a lot of bills, that’s just politics, but it is nice to see that he is working on trying to limit the pork as much as possible.
