A Quick Look In: The NBA Conference Finals

The NBA Playoffs are in full swing as we have reached the Conference Finals. I have to say I am shocked. I really though that we would see a rematch of last year NBA Finals. I picked Orlando over Boston and the Lakers over Phoenix both in 6 games. Well after two games in the Eastern Conference, the Magic find them selfs in a 2-0 hole heading back to Boston. The Magic look really lost, Lewis hasn’t been doing much of anything and has been ice cold, Vince Carter is not hitting shots, going 5-15 in game two. Dwight Howard is fouling as much as he is complaining. People have to understand that Howard is great defensive player but awful on the other side of the ball. He as no offensive game. The reason he scores 20 points a game is because he is a great rebounder and he just dunks the ball or gets an easy tip in. From time to time he will get a little baby jump hook that just looks awful to go in but he is just not nearly consistent enough. Hopefully for him he can turn out to be even half the offensive player the Patrick Ewing was, the man who is coaching in in Orlando.
Over on the Western Conference, The Lakers dominated game with a tremendous performance by Kobe Bryant as he dropped 40 points. Odum pitched in with 19 points and 19 rebounds and that was coming off the bench. Steve Nash is going to need to step up as well as Jason Richardson who needs to be the big time player that he has the potential to be.
