Sho Kosugi- King of the 80’s Ninja Movies

Posted: May 1, 2010 in Movie & TV Show Reviews and Thoughts, The Blog!

Just giving a shout out to one of my all time favorite 80’s action stars. No, it’s not Arnold, it’s not Sly, and though I love both of them, I’m talking about the king of the Ninja movies, Sho Kosugi. Throughout the entire 1980’s and early 90’s Sho Kosugi dominated the popular ninja scene especially with the rise of VHS movies and rental stores. If you didn’t have a card to your local video store, than you were sure to find one of his films on HBO and Cinemax. I just got a whole batch of his movies in the mail and will definitely be watching them real soon. My dad got me into watching them and my mom would make regular trips to the video store to pick them up for me while I practiced ninja movies in the living room. Sho Kosugi might not be the most well known star of the 80’s or put out “Oscar Worthy” films, but they sure were a fun 80’s ride.
